Submission guidelines
Our editorial process is thoughtful and collaborative, and submitting work means you’re open to editing for clarity, length and fit.
Bacon & Eggs is created for a broad, community-based readership. Submissions should be appropriate for this audience. We reserve the right to decline work that doesn’t align with the tone, values or intended readership of the magazine.

- We accept both fiction and non-fiction pieces
- Work can be written in first-person or third-person as appropriate
- Suggested length: 500–1,200 words (will vary based on type of work)
- Submissions should be complete pieces rather than idea pitches
- Work must be original and not previously published elsewhere
- Content should be appropriate for the magazine’s audience
Visual work
- Artwork should be high-quality and suitable for print
- Photography may be submitted as single images, series or photo essays
- If material contains people, the photographer is responsible for seeking appropriate consent to publish
- Content should be appropriate for the magazine’s audience
- Preference will be given to visual works with a clear link to the people and places of the Goulburn Mulwaree and Upper Lachlan region
Credit and Payment
All contributors will be credited in print, with a short bio and/or profile, and their work will be promoted through our social media channels and newsletter.
During the launch phase, we’re not currently able to offer financial payment for contributions.
As the magazine grows, we plan to introduce paid opportunities for contributors.
